The parental engagement assembly by Year 3A parents on World Food Safety Day was enlightening and meaningful in prompting students to eat healthy and stay safe. Ms. Marisol Martinez, the parent of Martina Chloe Martinez’s parent shared the light on the significance behind food safety and healthy eating habits. Students of year 3 created flap book on five steps to food safety and how to avoid food contamination. • Clean: Wash your hands and surfaces often. • Separate: Don’t cross contaminate. Separate raw and cooked food. • Cook: Cook thoroughly at the right temperature. Checking with a food thermometer. • Chill: Refrigerate promptly. Bacteria can multiply rapidly if left at room temperature. • Safe Water: - Safe drinking water for cooking.

The students got enthusiastic and demonstrated more concern about rising food borne disease. They then engaged themselves in thinking of three ways to stay healthy. The assembly helped in promoting greater awareness about everybody has a role to play from farm to table to ensure the food we consume is safe and will not cause damages to our health.
