UAE National Day

Writer's picture: Year 3 TeamYear 3 Team

The UAE's National Day is commemorated with immense enthusiasm, honoring both the past and the sacrifices made by leaders and martyrs who contributed to the country's remarkable success within a brief span of 52 years. Our Sixth Form students also made it extra special by conducting sessions in lesson 1 and registration time centered around the UAE and its culture. Students from year 3 engaged in numerous events aimed at exploring and embracing UAE's culture like – taking all on a walk down the memory lane - Students made 3D artefacts/models of traditional Emirati homes, traditional cooling systems and modes of transport of the UAE using recyclable materials and take the guests on the guided tour of the museum of their class while explaining each project. Students also enjoyed making traditional Emirati decorative items - a tradition of using seashells to create decorative items, known as Al-Sadaf. Shells are meticulously arranged to form patterns on items like jewelry boxes, mirrors and other things. Furthermore, they celebrated 'Eat A Red Apple Day' as a pledge toward promoting healthy eating habits and a balanced lifestyle. It was a day full of fun, appreciation and enriching experience for all.
