Integrating mathematics with sustainability for students is a fantastic way to teach them about environmental responsibility while reinforcing key mathematical concepts. Today year 3 showcased some engaging and educational activities that link mathematics with sustainability. The link between math and sustainability is multifaceted, encompassing various mathematical concepts and applications that can contribute to a more sustainable world. It was a remarkable event wherein students along with their parents enthusiastically collaborated and engaged in all the activities planned for the day such as making a futuristic vehicle, and design a sustainable city using tangrams. They used the eco- friendly recycled materials make gift wraps for different items using the mathematical concepts of 3D shapes, length and perimeter and also decorated the same using mathematical concepts of symmetry, tessellations and patterns etc. The joy of participation was evident in their smiles and the eagerness to give the feedback.
